I awoke in the morning to the mildew drops upon my seeing window.
It seems even nature wishes me into a world of obscurity.
With a shaky hand, I reach towards the sheet of glass, wiping the riming drops from the surface.
Outside, the birds chirp and the wind blows, the trees dancing in their swaying rhythm to the beat of the world.
And I remain trapped in my silk sheets and comforting bed.
The accommodations made from the people claiming to love me have never felt more unforgiving
As I stare at everyone’s promised heaven,
Trapped in my own personal hell.
My lungs cruelly remind me of my position in this world as a coughing fit overtakes me.
My legs tremble under the weight of defying my creators,
As I make my stand from the bed.
And yet, I’m only met with failure as I collapse once again.
All with my condition have joined this wonderful planet, absorbed into the dirt
Becoming a part of the ecosystem.
But I will continue to defy fate
As I force myself to stand once again.
So I ask you, handler. No, I beg.
My skin is reminiscent of old, rotten vines
My muscles that of mud
So be careful when you lower me into the ground
Lest my gravel bones shatter.
