Who dares to chase love? Certainly not me.
I shan’t become a lover in my days.
While others find roses, I see only
Desolate fields of sorrows, woes and grays.
Love is a magnet to a man’s compass
Desire throws about a sailor’s stars.
Cupid’s poison arrow brings misled bliss.
Lovers lock lips, adoring even scars.
But love’s arrow is tipped with another,
Another sweet poison that draws me in.
Perhaps, one day I shall be a lover.
This love is joy, though I once thought it sin.
So yes, I now know love is truly worth
A chase, even to the ends of the Earth.
